I share some honest thoughts about the challenges of adjusting to a completely new lifestyle and offer advice for new or expecting parents on how to better prepare mentally for the changes ahead—while also highlighting the joy that comes with it.

Mǎkè: Lìlì, míngtiān jiù yào qù jiàn nǐ de bàba māma le。 Wǒ zhǔnbèi mǎi diǎner xiānhuā sòng gěi ā yí，dài yī píng hóngjiǔ gěi shūshu。
丽丽：不用买这些，我们一家都很喜欢吃水果，买点儿水果过去就好了。
Lìlì  :   Bùyòng mǎi zhèxiēū, wǒmen yī jiā dōu xǐhuan chī shuǐguǒ, mǎ diǎnr shuǐguǒ guòqù jiù hǎo le。
马克：就这么简单吗？跟我们那里不一样。
Mǎkè: Jiù zhème jiǎndān mā? Gēn wǒmen nàlǐ bù yīyàng。
丽丽：就是这么简单，太隆重了，他们反而觉得不自然。
Lìlì:     Jiùshì zhème jiǎndān, tài lóngzhòng le, tāmen fǎnér juéde bù zìrán。
马克：我担心这样做不礼貌呢。
Mǎkè: Wǒ dānxīn zhèyàng zuò bù lǐmào ne。
丽丽：投其所好，入乡随俗。我们也请你吃一顿家常便饭。
Lìlì:     Tóu qí suǒ hào, rù xiāng suí sú。 Wǒmen yě qǐng nǐ chī yī dùn jiā cháng biàn fàn。

Mark: Lili, I'm going to meet your mom and dad tomorrow. I'm going to buy some flowers for my aunt and a bottle of red wine for my uncle.  
Lili: There is no need to buy these. We all like fruit very much. Just buy some fruit.  
Mark: Is it that simple?  It's not like where we are.  
Lili: It's as simple as that. If they're too grand, they don't look natural.  
Mark: I'm afraid that would be rude.  
Lili: Do as the Romans do.  We'll treat you to a potluck dinner.

といいます。

Transcript

C'era una volta un topolino di nome Tommaso che viveva in una piccola tana nel bosco. Tommaso era un topolino molto curioso e sempre alla ricerca di avventure. Un giorno, decise di esplorare il mondo al di fuori della sua tana.
Camminò per molte ore, superando montagne e attraversando fiumi, fino a quando non vide un grande castello. Era così affascinato dal castello che decise di entrarci. Una volta all'interno, incontrò un re che aveva bisogno di aiuto per trovare un tesoro nascosto.
Tommaso accettò l'incarico e cominciò a cercare il tesoro. Esplorò ogni angolo del castello, ma non riusciva a trovare nulla. Ad un certo punto, incontrò una vecchia volpe che gli disse che il tesoro era nascosto sotto un albero nel cortile del castello.
Tommaso corse fuori dal castello e trovò l'albero. Scavò sotto di esso e c’era il tesoro! Era così felice che decise di dividerlo con il re. Il re era così grato che offrì a Tommaso una ricompensa, ma Tommaso rifiutò, dicendo che l'avventura e la scoperta del tesoro erano già una ricompensa sufficiente.
Allora il topolino tornò nella sua tana, pieno di gioia e con molte storie da raccontare ai suoi amici. E da quel giorno in poi, visse una vita piena di avventure e scoperte.
