In this video, I introduce a useful Japanese phrase and six translation exercises that contain the same grammatical structure as the phrase. The Japanese level of this video is JLPT N4 to JLPT N3.

前回の動画で我が家の猫を２匹紹介しました。実は、我が家の猫は２匹とも、捨て猫でした。２匹とも、我が家に来たときは寄生虫がいたり、ノミがいたりして大変でした。でも、今では清潔で、健康で、元気です。

今日は『引き取る+ことにしました』、『飼う+ことにしました。』と言う文の、『動詞の終止形/ない形+ことにしました。』と言う形をマスターして行ってみましょう！

『動詞の終止形/ない形+ことにしました。』と言う形を使うと、

スペイン語で言うと、"alguien decidió (no) hacer algo" "alguien acordó (no) hacer algo"

英語で言うと、"someone decided (not) to do something" "someone made a point of (not) doing something"

の様な表現が日本語でできます。

応用練習：

それでは早速、この形を使って、次のスペイン語、もしくは英語を日本語で表現してみましょう。

スペイン語：Decidí ver los videos de Mitch veinte veces todos los días.

英語：I decided to watch Mitch's videos twenty times every day.

日本語：私は毎日２０回、ミッチさんの動画を見ることにしました。

スペイン語：¡Decidimos casarnos!

英語：We've decided to get married.

『casarse』、『get married』は日本語で『結婚する』と言います。

日本語：私たちは結婚することにしました。

スペイン語：Decidí acudir al gimnasio desde el año que viene.

英語：I made up my mind to go to the gym next year.

『acudir al gimnasio』、『go to the gym』は日本語で『ジムに通う』と言います。

日本語：来年からジムに通うことにしました。

スペイン語：Decidí no dormir hoy porque tengo un examen mañana.

英語：I decided not to sleep today because I have an exam tomorrow.

日本語：明日テストがあるので、今日は寝ないことにしました。

スペイン語：Decidí no beber alcohol mientras trabajo. 

英語：I decided not to drink alcohol while working.

日本語：仕事中は、お酒を飲まないことにしました。

スペイン語：Decidí no comer alimentos fritos.

英語：I've decided not to eat fried food.

日本語：揚げ物を食べないことにしました。

まとめ：

と言うわけで、今日は『動詞の終止形/ない形+ことにしました。』と言う形を使かって

スペイン語で言うと、"alguien decidió (no) hacer algo" "alguien acordó (no) hacer algo"

英語で言うと、"someone decided (not) to do something" "some made a point of (not) doing something"

の様な表現を練習しました。

Episode 16. 〜ところです

The price of bitcoin hit more than $100,000 for the first time as the value of the cryptocurrency continues to soar following the election of Donald Trump.

This came just hours after the President-elect indicated he'd take a lighter regulatory approach to the crypto industry during his presidency.

It climbed from $69,374 on the day of Trump's election on November 5 and rose as high as $103,713 on December 4, according to CoinDesk.

Just two years ago, bitcoin dropped below $17,000 following the collapse of crypto exchange FTX.

However, experts aren't sure how long the value of bitcoin will remain high as cryptocurrency is highly volatile.

Some are hopeful of future gains, but others continue to warn of investment risks.

Trump, who was once a crypto skeptic, has said he wants to make the US "the crypto capital of the planet." His campaign accepted donations in cryptocurrency and he has also launched World Liberty Financial, a new project with family members to trade cryptocurrencies.

Many in the crypto industry have welcomed Trump's victory, hoping that he'll be able to push through changes that they've long lobbied for — which, generally speaking, aim for an increased sense of legitimacy without too much red tape.

Trump has already made a move in that direction, saying he intends to nominate cryptocurrency advocate Paul Atkins to chair the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Under current chair Gary Gensler, the SEC has cracked down on the crypto industry, penalizing a number of companies for breaking securities laws.

But what is cryptocurrency, really?

In basic terms, cryptocurrency is digital money. It is designed to work through an online network without a central authority — meaning it's typically not backed by any government or banking institution — and transactions get recorded with technology called a blockchain.

はい、こんにちは洋平先生です。え、今日は”親切”と”優しい”のちがいについて話したいと思います。親切な人、これは誰かがこまっていたら”ちょっと”助けてあげる人です。 
”ちょっと”です。えー、例えば、バスや電車で疲れている人に席をゆずる。とかえー、シャツの後ろが汚れていたら伝えてあげる、教えてあげるですね。 えー、あとは、背の高い人が、高いところのものを誰かのために取ってあげる。これが親切です。
うん、”ちょっと”ですよね、”ちょっと”助けてあげる人です。えっとですね、例えば命を助けるとか、1000万円の借金を払ってあげる、これは、親切とちょっと違いますね。
うん、似ているんですけど、ちょっと違います。で、えー、ポイントが親切な人のことを優しい人とも言うことができるんですよ。

〇親切な人→優しい人

うん、じゃあ、その優しい人はどんな人かというと、えー、誰かが悲しい時、さびしい時、 一緒にいてあげるとか、部下がミスをしても怒らない人。もしくは 怒るけど、本当に部下がどうしたら次にミスをしなくなるか考えながらしかる人。うん、これが優しい人ですね。
で、えー、ここが大切なポイントで、今言った優しい人は、親切な人じゃありません。

△優しい人→親切な人

優しい人は、親切な人と言えないことが時々あります。 
じゃあ、ちょっと具体的（ぐたいてき）に例を出します。えー、優しい人か、親切な人か、どちらか 言ってみてください。

これ簡単（笑）
バスに乗っていますそのバスであなたは座っています おじいちゃんが立っていますで、あなたの知らないおじいちゃんですあなたは立っています 
「おじいちゃん、ここに座ってください」
これは親切ですか、優しいですか、
うん、これは親切ですね。 で、えー。最初に言った通り、親切な人は優しい人とも言うことができるんで、えー、両方です。
大丈夫ですか。じゃあ、もう1つ、あなたはサイフを拾います お金がたくさん入ってるサイフです。え、近くに警察がありません。遠い警察に行きます で、警察にサイフをわたします。これは親切ですか、優しいですか、
これも両方ですこれも親切で、えー、優しいです。

じゃあ、えー、もっといきますよ。お父さんが死んだ友達がいます。その友達はとても悲しいです、 寂しいですあなたはその友達の家に行きます。で、一緒にいてあげます。ずっと一緒にいてあげますこれは親切ですか、優しいですか、

じゃあえー、最後にちょっと特別な例を言いますね。えー、1つ目の例をもう1回言いますねでも、ちょっと人が違います。え、バスに乗っています。そのバスであなたは座っています。自分のお父さんが立っています。あなたは立って言います。
「お父さん、ここに座って」
これは、えー、最初は知らないおじいちゃんでしたね。 
で、その時は親切でしたが、え、自分のお父さんに席をゆずっても親切じゃありません、優しいです。いいですか、これが大切なところです。うん、自分の家族に席をゆずっても親切にはなりません。

あとは、例えばお母さんが自分の子供にいつもご飯を作ってあげます。がんばってます。うん、いそがしくても作ります。これは親切ですか、優しいですか、これは優しいですね、はい、ここをちょっと間違えている人が、結構（けっこう）いるんですね。で、ちょっと、皆さんに気を付けていただけたらなと思いました。
