はい、こんにちは。今回はポッドキャストの15回目です。先月、不動産屋のウェブサイトを見たら、私の住んでいるアパートの家賃が下がっていることに気付きました。大家さんに相談したら、私も家賃を下げてもらえることになりました。ラッキーです。日本のアパートは時間が経つと家賃が下がることがあります。

Hello, this is episode 15 of season 2 of my podcast. Last month, I looked at the estate agent's website and noticed that the rent for the apartments in my apartment building had gone down. I talked to my landlord and he agreed to lower my rent too. I feel lucky. Apartments in Japan can have their rent reduced over time.

最近は大学で比較教育学について勉強しています。比較教育学とは、いろいろな国の教育システムの違いや、教育の歴史を調べて、比べる学問です。いろいろな国の教育を比べると、社会の違いがよくわかります。たとえば、義務教育の違いです。義務教育とは、子供が学校に行かなければならない期間です。日本は、小学校６年、中学校３年、全部で９年です。アメリカは９年から13年で、州によって違います。日本では、どの学校も同じ教科書を使います。アメリカでは、決められた教科書がありません。

I have recently been studying comparative pedagogy at university. Comparative pedagogy is the study of the differences in education systems and the history of education in different countries. Comparing the education systems of different countries gives a clear picture of the differences between societies. An example is the difference in Gimukyouiku. ‘Gimukyouiku’ (compulsory education) is the period during which children have to go to school. In Japan, there are six years of elementary school and three years of junior high school, nine years in all. In the USA, it ranges from 9 to 13 years, depending on the state. In Japan, all schools use the same textbooks. In the USA, there are no set textbooks.

今日はアメリカの生徒さんと、このことについて話しました。アメリカの中学校の歴史の授業では、国の歴史以外に、州の歴史も勉強するそうです。知りませんでした。日本の中学校では、どこに住んでいても同じ内容の、国の歴史を勉強します。高校でも歴史を勉強しますが、どこの学校も大体同じ内容だと思います。内容が大きく変わるのは大学に入ってからです。大学では専攻に関係する歴史を詳しく勉強します。

今日は引越のコツについて話します。

みなさんは何回ぐらい、引越をしたことがありますか？
僕は、今まで、10回ぐらい引越をしたことがあります。

引越をするにつれて、だんだんうまくなりました。
どんなことを気をつけると楽に引越ができるかを考えるようになりました。

そこで、今回は、引越を簡単にする為のコツを話します。

1つ目はものを少なくすること
　毎日使う物は、意外と決まっています。
それだけがあると、実は生活は困らないんですよね。
いろいろほしくなるかもしれないですが、本当はそれはなくても大丈夫な物です。本当にいる物、いる数を把握しておくと、判断しやすくなります。

よく使う物を、例えて1軍のもの、とか言います。
野球とかでレギュラーの人たちを1軍、と言います。
ほぼ毎日活躍するので、1軍ですね。
ですので、毎日使う物は1軍です。

2つ目はそのまま運べるケースに入れること
　これは引越の時におおいに役立ちます。日本では、引越が決まると、引越会社からダンボールをいくつかもらいます。それに入れるか、ちょうどいいケースの大きさなら、そのまま運んでくれます。僕は無印のケースを少しだけ持っているので、それを運んでもらえれば大丈夫なようにしています。
もちろん食器などは包んでダンボールに入れますが、食器をだいぶ少なくしたので、引越する時も簡単です。
　
3つ目はいつも最小限のもので生活すること
　これは、僕が人生でしたいことの一つですね。
物にあふれた社会からどんどん変わってきたと思います。
今は物を持たない、持つ必要がない時代になったと思います。ものが少ないと気持ちも軽く、お金を少なくても大丈夫です。物をたくさん買うとお金がかかりますし、結局使わずに捨ててしまったこともあります。
ですので、今は何か物を買う時はよく考えます。吟味します。でも本当に必要な物はすぐ買います。即決します。
　いつも、自分の持ち物について最小限にすることを考えます。それは楽しいことです。スーツケース1つに自分のものが入るところまで減らしたいと考えています。もうすぐできそうな気がしています。

これらは、人によります。
たくさんのものがある人や、物を持つことが好きな人はまた別かもしれません。僕は物を持たない生活が好きなので、最小限にしたいと考えています。

ですので、いつもこれは本当にいるのか、なくても生活できるのかを考えます。反対に、これがあったら物をもっと減らせるんじゃないか、とかもいつも考えます。
