Description
"I am knowing him since college." "You are coming, isn't it?" Indian English grammar is stable and systematic, and many patterns come from the grammar of Indian languages. Learn the pattern and a sentence that sounds strange becomes instantly clear.
What you will learn:
• "-ing" with state verbs: I am having two brothers, Are you understanding?
• "Since" and "for" with the present tense: I am working here since 2019
• One fixed tag for all sentences: isn't it?, no?, na?, and "Is it?" for "Really?"
• Question word order: Where you are going? Can you tell me where is the station?
• "Itself" and "only" for emphasis; "one" as "a"; articles left out
• "Would" as a polite future, and "kindly" as please
• Countable nouns (luggages, informations) and fixed expressions: do one thing, my head is paining, I'll go and come
• Practice sentences, seven listening strategies and self-check questions
Level: B1–B2. Self-study: listen, then take the quizzes.
