参考（さんこう）として”TRY! N4”という教科書を使っていますが、教科書を見なくても聞けます。
I use a textbook “TRY! N4" as a reference, but you don't need to look at it to listen.

「〜んです」は相手の事情（じじょう）を説明（せつめい）してほしい時や自分の事情を話したい時などに使います。また、理由（りゆう）を言う時にも使います。
Use "んです”：When you want a person to explain their situation or when you want to talk about your situation. You can also use it to provide a reason.

１）A: どうしたんですか。
        B: ちょっと気分が悪いんです。
２）A: あれ、山田さん、今日仕事は？
       B: 今日は休みなんです。
３）A: そのシャツ、きれいですね。どこで買ったんですか。
　　B: 駅前（えきまえ）のデパートで買ったんです。
４）A: きのう、どうして来なかったんですか。
        B: すみません。熱（ねつ）があったんです。
５）A: 山田さんは歌わないんですか。
       B: ええ、歌が下手（へた）なんです。
６）A: パーティーの申込書（もうしこみしょ）、どこに出すんですか。
        B: 私も知らないんです。事務所（じむしょ）で聞きましょう。
７）A: どうしたんですか。
        B: 歯（は）が痛（いた）いんです。
４）A: 先生、この問題（もんだい）がわからないんです。
        B: じゃ、もう一度説明（せつめい）しますね。
