Case Masterclass: -il Ninnu and -ninnu — From and Since | Spoken Malayalam #052
Description
English uses "from" for places, people and times: from home, from Amma, from Monday. English speakers translate directly and use one Malayalam word for all three, so they say "thinkalaazhcha ninnu" for "from Monday", which sounds odd. Malayalam splits "from" into three.
In this episode:
• From a place: -il ninnu
• From a person: -nte aduthu ninnu
• Since a time: muthal
• Until: vare
• Putting it together
• An invented scene: grandma arrives
• Language bridge
• Practice
• Self-check questions with answers
