When we learn anything new, including a foreign language, it's necessary to memorize some basic information.  This provides a foundation for everything else.  So how can you memorize what you need without wasting a lot of time or feeling bored?

9_Mein Haus. Mein Auto. Mein Boot.

(A)  Eine Fernseh-Werbung aus den 90er Jahren wird in Deutschland auch heute noch oft zitiert: Zwei Männer, die sich aus ihrer Schulzeit kennen, treffen sich nach Jahren wieder und wollen demonstrieren, wie viel sie im Leben erreicht haben. Sie wollen einander IN DEN SCHATTEN STELLEN, indem sie abwechselnd Foto um Foto auf den Tisch legen mit den Worten: „Mein Haus. Mein Auto. Mein Boot.“ Wobei das Boot eine Yacht ist.

(B)  Tatsächlich war es damals ein Zeichen von Wohlstand, ein schönes Haus und ein tolles Auto zu besitzen. Heute trifft das nicht mehr hundertprozentig zu. Junge, hochqualifizierte und gut verdienende Leute ziehen es nicht selten vor, ein Haus oder eine Wohnung zu mieten. Zum einen verlangt ihr Beruf oft dass sie flexibel sind und jederzeit umziehen können, zum anderen ist Wohneigentum in deutschen Großstädten fast UNERSCHWINGLICH geworden. Auch ein eigenes Auto ist nicht mehr für jeden erstrebenswert. Die Suche nach einem Parkplatz gestaltet sich zum täglichen Drama und die Innenstädte sind ein einziger Verkehrsstau. Nicht wenige junge Leute ziehen ein Fahrrad vor: Es ist gesünder, schneller und umweltbewusster. 

(C)  Ein hoher Lebensstandard zeigt sich heute eher in der neuesten digitalen Ausstattung. Auch schöne Reisen in die ganze Welt gehören zu den Wünschen der jungen Generation.  Andererseits spricht natürlich nichts gegen einen tollen Urlaub auf einem Boot.
