Importance of Reading Stories in English

Today, let's try practicing some Russian tongue twisters! Tongue twisters are a fantastic tool for improving your pronunciation, focusing on challenging sounds, and increasing your speech speed, ultimately making it clearer.
Give it a shot and try repeating after me. I'll read each one twice: first slowly, and then closer to normal speed.

지영 씨의 주말

지영 씨는 회사에 다닙니다. 월요일부터 금요일까지 일합니다. 그래서 주말에는 쉬고 싶습니다.
토요일 아침, 지영 씨는 보통 9시에 일어납니다. 늦게 일어나서 아침을 먹고 청소를 합니다. 집이 깨끗하면 기분이 좋습니다. 청소를 한 후에는 시장에 갑니다. 시장에서 과일과 채소를 삽니다. 가끔 고기나 생선도 삽니다.

오후에는 친구를 만납니다. 카페에서 커피를 마시고 이야기를 합니다. 친구와 함께 영화를 보기도 합니다. 저녁에는 집에 와서 간단한 음식을 만들고 먹습니다. 그리고 책을 읽거나 음악을 듣습니다.

일요일에는 가족과 시간을 보냅니다. 부모님 댁에 가서 점심을 먹습니다. 함께 산책하거나 텔레비전을 봅니다. 가족과 이야기하면서 즐거운 시간을 보냅니다. 저녁에는 다음 주를 준비합니다. 옷을 세탁하고 가방을 정리합니다. 일찍 잠을 잡니다.

THE POWER OF STORYTELLING

Great communicators take their audiences on a journey through storytelling, and Aristotle’s famous ‘Tell, Tell, Tell’ triptych is one of the most offered pieces of advice given to anyone hoping to become a good storyteller.

However, you don’t want to just follow the crowd, you want to stand-out and be remembered by your colleagues, your boss and your clients. So, I want to share with you an updated take on the 3-tells for the modern business era.

Firstly, share your conclusions with your audience. Start with the conclusion that you want the audience to remember. This lets them know what you are going to be communicating to them and provides a destination.

Secondly, show how and why you have reached your conclusion. This is the heart of your story and where you will spend most of your time. Because they already know the destination, this part of your presentation is more productive as your audience is already trying to convince themselves that your conclusions are correct.

Finally, tell them what you want them to do with your conclusion.
