(A)   ZUM GEGENWÄRTIGEN ZEITPUNKT gibt es in Deutschland viel zu wenig Unterrichtspersonal. Der Lehrermangel an den Schulen verschärft sich mehr und mehr. Die Gründe sind bekannt. Schnelle Lösungen gibt es nicht.

(B)   Wie konnte es zu dieser Situation kommen?
Zum einen steigt seit über zehn Jahren die Zahl der Geburten und zum anderen die hohe ZUWANDERUNG aus dem Ausland. Beides führt zu mehr Schulanfängern in den Grundschulen.
Gleichzeitig sinkt aus demographischen Gründen die Anzahl der Erwachsenen, die diese Kinder unterrichten könnten. Dazu kommt, dass immer weniger junge Leute ein Lehramts-Studium beginnen und immer mehr  von ihnen ein solches Studium ohne Abschluss abbrechen. 

(C)  Eine weitere Schwierigkeit ist, dass die Fächer der jungen Lehrer ungleich verteilt sind: Es gibt genug Deutschlehrer und Sportlehrer, aber viel zu wenige für Mathematik oder Informatik.

(D)   Zur Zeit versucht man die Situation durch die Einstellung von Leuten aus anderen Berufen aufzufangen. Da diesen Menschen die pädagogische und didaktische Qualifikation fehlt, ist das nicht immer erfolgreich. Auch bessere Bezahlung wird das Problem nicht lösen. Man wird die Arbeitsbedingungen der Lehrer überdenken müssen: Das bedeutet kleinere Klassen und niedrigere Stundenzahlen.
