WTO总干事表示，当前全球经济前景黯淡，同时也充满不确定性，但今年全球贸易增长可能比预期更快。但同时预计今年全球货物贸易将仅增长1%，较2022年3.5%的增幅大幅放缓。未来出现其他结果也是有可能的，这取决于俄乌冲突的进展、中国的重新开放，以及各大央行收紧货币政策的力度。WTO警告称，不要只与盟友进行贸易，这将阻碍全球经济的增长。这样做的代价将很严重。
