Enseignant professionnelHow to choose a proper Chinese name
I see some people would like to have a Chinese name.
So how to choose a proper Chinese name for a non-Chinese person?
1, The characters of the name should not means something nonsense, funny or disrespectful. You don't want a Chinese name means or sounds similar like " dummy chicken" in Chinese or like a funny name for a cartoon figure, right? The characters should have good and beautiful meaning. I have seen a serious business man have a Chinese name on his business card which means " Super robot man" from a Japanese cartoon movie.
2, The characters should not be some very rarely used one which even most Chinese people don't know how to pronounce and what is the meaning.
3, The first name in Chinese should pronounce at least a bit similar to your original first name. The second name should be a real existing Chinese family name.
If you still don't know what can be your proper Chinese name, you can send me message and tell me your name in English. I can make a good one for you. Also, a Chinese seal design with traditional characters in seal script. Free of charge.
By the way, I have been working as Chinese language teacher and Chinese calligraphy teacher for 18 years.
