What is the meaning of the construction "mean't" here, " You know how badly that singing competition mean't to me ". If it's not hard, could you translate this another way, please š

Itās either a typo or the author wants the reader to read the word āmeantā the way their character would say it. When I read āmeanātā Iām imagining someone with a southern drawl. If that isnāt consistent with the character then itās probably a typo. āMeanātā is not a proper construction.

Meant is not a contraction. It is the past tense of mean.

Agree with everyone. It is an error. "Meant" is the past tense of "mean". So, if speaking in present tense: "You know how badly that singing competition means to me," hope that helps.
