I am from Republic of Moldova. This is a small country situated between Ukraine and Romania in Eastern Europe. Our culture is an amalgam of russian and romanian traditions.
Because it is already Christmas, I would like to speak about our winter holidays. We celebrate twice Christmas (25th and 7th January) and New Year (31st and 14th). Of course, people can choose to celebrate Christmas on 25th December and New Year on 31st, or on 7th January and 14th. Although, a lot of us celebrate New Year on 31st and after Christmas on 7th. It a little bit strange.
By the way, we have a tendency to celebrate New Year twice in the same day (local time in Moscow/Chisinau).

It sounds quite useful to have a choice of when to observe Christmas, or to have two sessions.
