I am stuck. What is the difference between 'soy' and 'estoy' and how to tell when to use them
And i have the same problem with 'es, este, esta, estar & estan'. That one is really hard

Hello Hayley I am a native spanish speaker, "Soy" is used for something permanente or for Kong time, for characteristics... and "estoy" for something temporaly
Eg:
Yo soy de México (Nací allá)
Yo estoy en México (estoy allá)
Soy (no se cambia)
Yo soy alegre(es característica)
Yo estoy alegre(en este momento)
Soy feliz(llevo mucho tiempo siendo feliz)
Estoy feliz (actualmente feliz)

Think about the verb "estar" like the usage of the word "status" in social media (busy, available), and the verb "ser" like "something inside you".
Make any sense for you?
