These come before a noun and describe whose it is.

my, your, his, her, its, our, their
"This is my car."
"We arrived at her house."
š¹ Possessive Pronouns
These replace the noun and stand alone.
ā
They are:
mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, theirs
"This car is mine."
"The jewelry is theirs."
šø 's to Show Possession
Add 's to a noun to show it owns something:
Sally's dog = the dog that belongs to Sally
This is Fidoās house.
š If the name ends in s, both Charles' and Charles's are correct.
š For plural nouns, just add ā:
the boysā toys = the toys of the boys
