You can lease or rent a house/apartment, it is the same, but usually in spoken English we use rent as lease is a bit more formal and actually refers to the “lease” document. So you sign a lease, but you can’t sign a “rent”. Hope that helps

Lease可以翻成“租约”,rent 作为名词意思是“租金”。
My rent is $600 a month. 我的房租每个月600刀。
My lease is about to end. 我的租约快到期了。
I need to renew my lease. 我得续租。

A lease generally means you will stay longer and have a contract for an amount of time

If you lease a car, it is usually for several years.
If you rent a car, it might be for only a day or a week.
