I live in a barber shop now. I can sleep at night after the customer and barber leave. The barber lives here sometimes too. I rented the room from the barber. I thought his advantage is his silence. There is a saying, “blind massage, mute barber (doesn’t promote anything such as hair dye)”; showing how valuable the silence is, especially a barber’s. But just today when I went back to the place, the barber said, “It’s time to do your hair. Too long and too much white hair.” The only advantage disappeared. Yesterday I just said people advise me to dye my hair to my learner, she asked why; I said because they want to make money. She said she had been dyed her hair for ten years because of peer pressure. The spirit roams that long-ago land— you will laugh at this sentimental me, hair streaked white before my time.
