What's the difference between " moan" and " goan" ?

The nation moaned/goaned under the dictator's rule.

They are pretty similar, in this way it’s expressing that they were really unhappy. Groaning is a form of moaning. Groaning usually has something to do with a dislike or discomfort most of the time where moaning can be from discomfort or pleasure.
