Something that you have to be very tactful and careful if you bring it up or discuss it with others

As was already mentioned, a "delicate subject" is something you will have to be careful about discussing with another person because it is either a controversial issue or something deeply personal to the person you are talking to i.e.. a divorce or death in the family.
