Hi. while l am searching the difference between among Clear ,Clean and wipe , l came across the definations. But cleaning isn't clear to me yet. Does to clean mean washing wiping and clear ? l mean can we use clean everywhere instead of wipe and clear. To clean means to wash something. For example, I cleaned the car, or, I cleaned the cat. To clear means to remove something from a place that is not wanted. ------ To wipe means to clean something. You could wipe dirt off your glasses or you could wipe your table with a cloth to clean it.

To clean can mean many different things. You could clean your bedroom, meaning you picked up clothes, organized papers, and swept the floor. ----- clean an object = remove anything that makes it dirty clear an object = remove anything that hinders it from being obvious

Clean means to remove the dirt from something. When we use the word wash, it means with water. So, we usually use clean with acts like wiping tables, surfaces, etc. with a cloth, and wash for things like dishes, the outside of a car, etc. As for wipe, it's the action of using a cloth, tissue, or even hand to remove dirt from something. For example, 'He wiped his forehead with his hand.' or, 'She wiped the table with a cloth.' Clear just means to move unwanted items from a place. For example, 'Can you clear the table so that we can have dinner?' or I cleared the room from all the mess.'

It can help to put the words into phrases. You can clear, clean, and wipe a table, and they are different things. A collocation dictionary can give you an idea of the combinations of words.
