Enseignant professionnelEnglish has a secret rule: sometimes it adds sounds that aren't even there š
It's called intrusion and native speakers do it constantly without noticing.
When two vowel sounds meet at a word boundary, English quietly inserts a consonant between them to make the transition smoother.
Listen:
/w/ ā "go away" Ā· "do it" Ā· "who else?"
/j/ ā "she asked" Ā· "I am" Ā· "they always"
/r/ ā "the idea of it" Ā· "law and order"
Once you hear it, you'll catch it everywhere :)
