One of my favorite dishes is Tiramisù, a typical Italian dessert. Its origin is discussed between two Italian regions: Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. It is a dessert made with a particular kind of crumbly biscuits, named savoiardi, mascarpone cream, coffee and sometimes chocolate. It is composed by several layers of savoiardi soaked in coffee and mascarpone cream with pieces of chocolate. There are also alternative versions with fruit instead of coffee and chocolate but in my opinion the best one is the original with coffee! If you come to Italy you should try it!

I never knew that the crumble is called "savoiardi." I presume due to its provenance (i.e. Savoia). I also adore Tiramisù. I have a lot of fond memories that culminate in savoring this confection. 😋
