Online shopping is becoming more and more popular in all age-groups. The main reason for shopping on the coach is laziness and due to the fact that it is more comfortable than hurrying from shop to shop in an overcrowded city. A positive point is that you can save a little money, because you don’t have to buy a train ticket or fuel your car with gasoline and also you don't have to pay for a parking spot. For most people, time is an important factor in their daily life. You can go to the next shop only by a few clicks, so that you save a lot of time. Plus, you don’t have to search a free table for lunch in your favourite restaurant.
On the other hand online shopping can take much longer. At first, you have to choose between hundreds of shops and goods. After that, the items (e.g. clothes) are sent home and you have to try them on. In worst case you have to send all items back to the store and the whole process starts again. Online shopping is sometimes not really a time preserving method. If you have to send goods too often back, you should prefer local shopping. The impact of air pollution is also huge, as companies have to send goods to the customer’s home and in many cases the goods are sent back. Frequently, customers will be confronted with reports about exploited package deliverers, who are working for less than minimum wage. All in all there are pros and cons and it is not easy to say whether online shopping is a curse or a blessing. The bottom line is that everybody has to decide on his own.
