I have a doubt....
Which one is correct?
"They have locked the door before i get there."
"They had locked the door before i got there. "

Question, not Doubt.
Actually, both are gramatically correct, but the first one would hardly ever be used. I can only imagine it being used in a particular type of fiction writing, so for most purposes the second one is correct.

The second one is correct as it is talking about something in the past before another event in the past.
