I often see people express that the meaning of life is to enjoy the different pleasures they may experience, but throughout my short life I have noticed that it is not true. This happiness experienced is vain and empty since it disappears easily. Proof of this is that many people with great purchasing power, who can enjoy great privileges and afford to enjoy different pleasures are not really happy. They lead an empty life to which they do not find meaning, and in some this is even more notorious when old age arrives. When they perceive that their days are numbered, many of them feel frustration at not having achieved anything to be proud of.
I believe that all human beings are given certain gifts and talents, and that each of us has the responsibility to make the most of them. This is what the meaning of life is, to see how far we can go with those resources that were given to us. That is why the success of a person is not measured by the achievements obtained but rather by the obstacles that he has overcome, since we all did not fight the same battles or were given the same resources.
There is nothing more pleasant than feeling that you are progressing, that you are advancing, that you are not stuck living a vain life, without dreams or aspirations. This is where true happiness is.
I wrote this as a tool to improve my English writing skills at the same time I exercised my mind.
