Today's my favorite idol YEJI's birthday!! I made a cake to celebrate yesterday. I made it for the first time, so I couldn't do it very nice. But it tasted good.

Today's my favorite idol YEJI's birthday!! I made a cake to celebrate yesterday. It was my first time making one, so I couldn't do it very well. But it tasted good.
"one" refers to the cake (i.e. I assumed you meant it was your first time making a cake). Great job with this!
