Sometimes we smell a flower with all our might. How to say this phrase in English. Is it possible to say so? I smelled the flower deeply. Can the word smell be used alongside the word deeply in English?
"Be like the gentle breeze that smells the flowers deeply at dawn, and sometimes kisses them greedily."
Is there a mistake in that last sentence? I have used the word smell here along with the word deeply.

"Smell deeply" doesn't sound natural in English, but there are other ways that you can convey this meaning. You can "deeply inhale a scent" or "savour a scent". Savour means to take the time to fully enjoy a scent or a taste.
So, you could deeply inhale the scent of the flowers, or savour the scent of the flowers, for example.

There is no mistake. It is not a common thing to say, but so what? If people said only common things then poetry could not exist.
