Hello Kenneth. Good luck with your search for a teacher. Here is some general advice. 1) You can search for teachers by time, by price, and by keyword on the website and on the app. I find the website easier to use. 2) Ignore the star rating. Almost every tutor and teacher gets five stars. 3) Look at the number of lessons and the number of students to calculate the average number of lessons per student. A low average shows that the students aren't satisfied and stop after a few lessons. When I take lessons, I look for teachers with an average of at least 10 lessons per students. 4) Look at the reviews. If some students have taken 20, 30 or 40 lessons, that is a very good sign. 5) Look for evidence of training as a teacher for non-native learners (ELE diploma for Spanish). Just being a pleasant person isn't enough. I have had some terrible Persian, Ukrainian, and Spanish teachers who had university degrees in literature, but who were not competent as teachers for non-native speakers. Good luck!
