Ok first it is spelled ‘fortnight’, Fortnite is a video game lol. Fortnight is a two week period. However I would write or say the second sentence like this: “I just got a new job and I like it because it pays every two weeks.” You could also say ‘because the pay is every two weeks’, (or) ‘because I get paid every two weeks.’ In the U.S. most people don’t use the word fortnight. Fortnight is a term from 200 plus years ago. You would not hear it in everyday usage now. You would hear “every two weeks” or also “bi-weekly”
