What do you think of electric vehicles?
In my opinion, electric vehicles still have a problem.
If we want to use them, we must rely on renewable energy, not fossil fuel, for electricity.
If we use electricity from thermal power plants, we change chemical energy to electric energy, then further to kinetic energy.
There are two energy conversions.
If we use gasoline in an engine, we can change chemical energy directly to kinetic energy.
Energy conversion inevitably causes energy loss.
In addition, recently, hybrid vehicles have become more and more general.
By this technology, the energy efficiency of gasoline cars get quite high.
So if we compare these two ways, the latter is obviously higher in energy efficiency.
If we still want to use electric vehicles, we should generate power by efficient and environmentally-friendly resources.
But, even today, renewable energy sources are not enough and have problems.
After the Fukushima-1 plant accident, nuclear power has been shrinking around the world.
Hydroelectric power has already been fully developed and is not good for the environment.
Wind power is simply too small and quite unstable, and battery technologies, which is said to complement its fault, have not sufficiently developed yet.
So, I think that there is still a big barrier for electric vehicles to be widely used.
I would appreciate it if you corrected my post!
