Hello! Who can explain to me the difference in use between DISAPPOINTMENT and ANTICLIMAX?

"Disappointment" is something that people feel, but an "anticlimax" is when the plot of a story or a movie has a boring ending or an ending that is less exciting than you expected. The ideas are related, but not the same. (That is a very basic explanation, but hopefully it helps. ) Good luck!

Something is a disappointment if it is considerably worse than expected, causing people to feel disappointed. Something is an anticlimax if a situation had caused people to expect something impressive or scary or exciting or otherwise remarkable to happen, but then what finally happened was unremarkable. An anticlimax can be a good thing. For example, if two men are getting ready to have a fight, but then they realise that there has been a misunderstanding, that could be described as an anticlimax, but probably no-one would consider it to be a disappointment.

Anticlimax has one or more exciting events prior to disappointing end. Hence the words anti (oppose, opposite). Climax ( top, the best) Climax is the opposite when all is in order and finishes within expectations. You don’t hear it a lot in everyday spoken English …...
