He stays out all night. His grandmother waits up for him, crying. “Why are you doing this to me?” she asks. “Don’t you love me? I am going to send you away.” “Send me! No one loves me.” But she says she does love him. She only wants him to work and to be honorable, so that he can hold his head up high. He replies that he will do what he wants. Enrique has become her youngest child. “Please bury me,” she says. “Stay with me. If you do, all this is yours.” She prays that she can hold on to him until his mother sends for him What does "bury me" and "hold on to" mean in this context?

Difficult to say without knowing the full context, but I would say, "bury me" means "stay with me until I die" and "hold on to" means "keep him living with her".

I agree with Sam here, ''bury me'' means ''be the one who will stay with me forever'', and ''hold on to'' means to count that he will be there for her until he is sent away. Some of these terms have a very strong visual representation so you can guess the meaning by visualizing the scene.

If you send for someone, you send them a message asking them to come and see you
