I live in New England, which is apple-growing country. Ordinary supermarkets have a good selection of apples, and this is the right season for them. I love two specific varieties of apple: Honeycrisp and Sweetango. When it is the right season for Macouns they are wonderful. I like Granny Smiths (green apples imported from a number of places), my wife does not. She prefers Galas. I detest Red Delicious apples and think they have the most inaccurate name in the world.

I love pears when they are good. 

Bananas, strawberries, blackberries. Grapes; yes, I prefer seedless grapes, but Concord grapes are so delicious that I am willing to deal with the pits.

My favorite fruit is strawberry ???? but I also like apples and watermelon.
