Istanbul comes from Constantinepole... So its name comes from the name of a Byzantine Empire. Some people say that Istanbul comes from 'İslam bol' (Abundant İslam) but its just that fake... ;)

if you occupied Istanbul you will rule the whole world . Napelon Said it is overspeakly city in its cosmopolitan culture, really wonderful in every thing , Sultan Ahmet Mosque, bazzars , Topkay etc . really It is one of the most beautiful city in whole world

Istabul is the most publar city over the world.
here,in YEMEN ,is known as a point cross all new and old worlds,it's amaizing.
The man who opened this strongest city is called AHAMED ALFATEH ,he is the biggest name forever the Islamic Civilization ,
YOU KNOW,before two century Istabul was the capital of the strongest force over the world (OTTMAN EMPIRE) exactly like WASHINGTON today .
BUT Istabul will still the oldest capital along humanity history .
Washington does not have an aspect of Istanbul's hertige exceeding to history roots.
