Reflexive verb учиться

I have a little confusion with the verb учиться, учить

Some Russians have told me that are the same meaning but I'm sure are grammaticaly different. Does someone know the difference?

And the difference between изучать - учить

Большое спасибо)

Hello!
If I undestand right, I can show you some differences between these verbs.

So, "учиться" is like "studying" in English. "Учить" is closer to "learn" in English. So, "учиться" is like to study somewhere for a certain time. "Учить" is more temporary. For example, you're learning something for tomorrow exam/preparing for exam.

And "изучать" is more like "explore" or "study". Russian people usually use verb "изучать" when they want to say that they learn, for example, Psychology at the university or another class/course.

So, I hope it will help you! Sorry for my crappy English ;)

Good luck!

In Russian there is no one verb to convey the idea of studing - several different verbs are used, each with a distinct meaning and referring to a certain type of studying.
The verb изучать means to study in depth. It is a transitive verb, which means that it must have a direct object - you must be studying something , and it is something you study on a regular basis.
Я изучаю русский язык.
Мой брат изучает языки и математику.
The verb УЧИТЬСЯ is used when referring to the career of studying , of being a student ( at an institution)
Моя сестра учится в университете. Она учится хорошо.
The verb УЧИТЬ is used to convey the process of memorising (a rule/ words....)Also, it is very often used to denote the meaning of " to teach". This verb is transitive.

1) Я учу правило

2) Учитель учит меня

Brenthia is right. Nothing can be added.

I'll just give you some examples of usage of these words.

- Я люблю учить иностранные языки (I like to study foreign languages)

- Мне нравится учиться в университете больше чем в школе (I like to study in the University more than in the school )

- Я буду изучать физику в колледже (I will study physics in college)

So, as you can see, those words can be translated as STUDY. But there are some differents in the usage. Good luck! :)

eучить (to teach) - учиться (to study), literally учитьСЯ ~ учить СебЯ. -СЯ verbs also are used in passive sentences, no comparision in English is founded. I see you're also learning swedish, so учить vs учиться = lära (to teach) vs lära sig (to learn).
