Just a question about the expression "Sike I lied"...

I know that "Sike" means that the immediately precending statement is false and was told to mislead.

I just wonder if it's an offensive expression or maybe pretty much rude? (How/where/whom) can I use that expression?

Thank you.

It is pronounced 'sike' but the word is 'psych' and is a slang word related to psychology.

Not so much rude but more annoying and immature it is usually used when a person might say something outrageous or upsetting to someone, but after getting a reaction the person would say "psych!" letting the other person know that what they said was just a joke.  Hmmm, an example might better

Person 1 "You went on your date with THAT shirt?  Didn't you notice the sweat stains under your arms???"

Person 2 - visibly upset or puzzled

Person 1  "Psych!"

Like I said, annoying and immature, something that might be fun in junior high school or with junior high school minded people.  Might be funny after a few drinks with long time friends, but I can't imagine many settings where you will find it useful at all

lol    this is some old slang I haven't heard in a long, long time.  If I heard a non native English speaker say this, it might

be one of the funniest things I've heard in my whole life.   fyi-  I've never heard an adult use this.

LOL nice :-)

As a foreign language speaker you might get away with a psych joke in a group setting.  Sort of a "Oh look the foreign guy knows some cool slang!".  But it will wear off quickly.  Better to run :-)

Neal is absolutely correct.  If the people you are learning English from use this expression, you need to run away from them very quickly.

It is just slang.  Don't worry about it too much.
