How Do You Make the Best of Notebook Entries?
I like the concept of Notebooks and being able to receive feedback from native speakers here on italki; however, sometimes I'm a little more confused than when I started.

I'm appreciative of grammar and spelling corrections, but I'm oftentimes puzzled by word choice changes or grammar that's not necessarily incorrect, but completely different from what I'm learning because it's colloquial. This makes it more difficult to learn because I have to start over again and learn a new system/pattern when I'm trying to master another one.

I'm concerned that if I layout what exactly I want the native speaker to focus on in my entry, then the native speaker will pass by my entry because it'll require more than just rewriting my entry in a more natural way.

Do you think think native speakers would be less likely to help if I added some guidelines to reviewing my entry? What do you try to learn when making Notebook entries on italki and receiving feedback? If you don't use that feature of the site at all, then what do you like to do that's an equivalent?

Hi Carmen,
I enjoy writing in my notebook here on Italki. I’ve written more than 250 journals and received corrections, suggestions and guidelines from English native speakers which I highly appreciate.
I think they know what is required so I don’t need to tell them what to do since I am a learner.

Hi carmen,
I also like to write Notebooks, whenever I receive feedback from native or non-native speakers, I became glad to see my corrections on my mistakes. I always try to write some new words in my notebooks just due to know about their usage that how can I use them in different sentences. Many times it happened to those people who wanted to help me in my correction that they couldn't understand what I did, due to my improper English grammar. But they help me always.
Here, I also improved my comma usage.
That's why I improved my English here more more than anywhere, and now I'm ready to improve it more and more.
In real words, italki is very helpful for different language learners.
Sorry for my weak English.

I don’t think you need to put specific guidelines. Instead you can simply ask for clarification in a comment and ask for how to say it in the pattern you were looking to practice. If you can ask for clarification in the target language and understand the feedback in it as well, that’s even better for more practice.
