What is the difference? Chinese Pinyin.
Hello! I am learning Chinese and would like to know why these two questions mean the same but are written differently:
Can you speak English?:
Nǐ huì shuō yīngwén ma
Nǐ huì shuō yīngyǔ ma
I am learning Mandarin and i'm getting slightly confused with the different words used for the same questions! Please can somebody help explain why yingyu and yingwen are different? Can I use any?

英文yingwen: 大多指的是文字
英语yingyu: 大多指的是语言
但是，在日常生活中，中国人不会把这两个区分开，就像英文和英语都是English一样。
所以，你会说英文吗？=你会说英语吗？
