Placees to go:  Hotel Coronado; Balboa Park, including the San Diego Zoo; San Diego Zoo Safari Park; Sea World; Petco Park (baseball stadium) to see a professional baseball game, so popular in the US; USS Midway Museum (a retired aircraft carrier); Torrey Pines Natural Reserve.

These are the ones that immediately came to mind.  Google them, and google "san diego attractions" for more.

I won't recommend eateries (informal for restaurants) because I don't know which are good.
