For example, "actualmente" is a copy of "actuellement" and both mean "currently". "Asistir" is very much like "assister" and both mean to attend. "Libreria" and "librairie" are both book stores. "Professor" and "professeur" can be a simple teacher. "univerisdad" and "université" is the only way to talk about Univeristies (a "collège" in Canada is a private high school).
I find it funny that "pregnant" is “embarazado”. It tells a lot about what people really feel about it!
