Do you prefer to travel by train or by plane? Why and why not?

If I ever made it and travelled by train, I would probably cry happy tears :') It's one of my dreams and trains are not used in my country! Trains are connected in my brain to the books I used to read in my childhood, especially Russian novels. I'm always forced to fly by planes! I simply fear them and always had bad dreams about falling planes, so they're really not a good choice for me.

I prefer to travel by train. First of all , I can admire the view along the road. Secondly,I think it would be cheaper than taking a plane.

Ah, posted too soon!

For any journey over three hours I would always prefer to take a plane. For long distance journeys in the UK trains are actually just as expensive as the plane, and yet they take much, much longer so it's a bit of a no-brainer really. For example if I wanted to go to Edinburgh, it would take me an hour to get to Birmingham, Luton or any of the London airports, and then a further hour on the plane to Edinburgh. Taking the train would take 7 or 8 hours at least. And the price of train tickets in the UK are fast becoming a joke, so it often doesn't even have the advantage of being cheaper.

There are no trains in my country. The only options are traveling by plane or by bus. I always avoid traveling by bus because it's very uncomfortable.
