I've read articles about this, but the articles I have read have not said anything about whether or not its ok for young couples to just have a banquet and then continue living at home with the parents. Do young couples in China do a mix of naked and traditional marriage? ie, just having a banquet so the parents can have face, and then just living at home after that?

If people can't afford all these expensive things but still wanna get mat married, why not? The main purpose is to be together, not having a great party or receiving expensive presents, right? Well I'm not Chinese,and I suppose our cultures differ greatly.. But I personally would rather have some kind of "naked marriage", than spending money to and fro, even in case I would have unmeasurable amount of money (which is not the case here...hahaha). But I think there are lots of people in my country that would rather die than have such a marriage=) Anyway I think that if one's purpose is being together, then they should and would go for "naked marriage". If it's something else (like money, presents, cars and so on) then they shouldn't and I think wouldn't go for it=)
