Is Eng-Chn translation brainkilling...:(

As a chinese who's been learning English for about 10 yrs, i really find it torture to translate between these two languages( i mean translation not interpretation).Just like today i was about sitting before my computer for nearly 5 hours just to finish an assignment(an article with 400 words)given by my translation teacher..There're so many differences in culture, expressions, idioms, slangs, logic etc.....The problem is that u'll always want to perfect or better ur version of translation cuz u know there must be some better ways to equal with the source text [OR: "there must be some better ways to express the meaning of the source text"]..but i just cant think of them :( It's really soooooooo hard to be a translator .finally i got dizzy and kind of lost my patience.that's the problem of my studying in translation. Anyway long way to gooooo..really.......

I think that your English is very very good! I would imagine that translation would be very difficult to do, so I think its normal that it takes you a long time! I guess the more you practise, the faster you will get! 加油！
