A Literary Analysis of The Sniper Part 1 I somehow got apoor grade on this analysis for some reasons that my teacher didn't want to tell me what it was. I mean, I have the right to get respons of what I could do better. __________ A Literary Analysis of The Sniper The Sniper” is a short story written by the Irish writer Liam O’Flaherty during the early week of the Irish Civil War. The story occurred in Dublin, Ireland’s capital Dublin at an evening in June in 1922. The action happens mostly at a roof-top and the street level near O’Connell Bridge. Many Irishmen (Republicans) did not accept the treaty and the country was thrust into a civil war. On a roof-top a Republican sniper lay watching. He risked taking a smoke and the flash from the struck of a match caught the enemy’s attention and almost immediately a bullet flattered itself. Not long after an armored car came cross the bridge and stopped. An informer saw the sniper and informed the man in the turret. The sniper raised his rifle and shot his enemies. Suddenly a shot sounded sharply and the sniper dropped his rifle. His forearm got hit. The sniper had to escape from the roof because his enemy had covered his escape. He found a solution and managed to trick his enemy. His enemy was killed. When he came to down to the street level, his curiosity made him offered his life to run over the street to conform the enemy’s identity. The major character in the story was a Republican sniper. We do not know what his name was. He was a student and his face is thin and prepared for sacrifice. His eyes were dead and thoughtful, the eyes of a man who was used to looking at death. It seemed as the sniper did not have empathy; he was killed the informer and a man in the turret without any conscience. His fierce love of battle was strong and it has kept him extremely excited. He was a smart person who managed to trick his enemy. After he killed his last enemy, he was filled with sadness and was angry at the war, at himself and at everybody. The Sniper’s curiously made him offered his life to conform if this person was at the same army as him before they were separated. I think at the end The Sniper got surprised when he found out that he killed his brother. The other characters were the man in the turret, an informer and the man at the opposite roof-top. All of them were The Sniper’s enemies and their relationships were bad. That made intense between those two partners.

__________

A Literary Analysis of The Sniper
"The Sniper” is a short story written by the Irish writer Liam O’Flaherty during the early weeks of the Irish Civil War. The story occurred in Dublin, Ireland’s capital, Dublin on an evening in June in 1922.
(This sentence is fine, but you really should write it as three sentences.) Not long afterwards, an armored car came across the bridge and stopped.
When he came to down to the street level, his curiosity compelled him to risk his life by running across the street to confirm the enemy’s identity.
The major character in the story was a Republican sniper. We do not know what his name was. He was a student and his face was thin and prepared for sacrifice. ("a student with a thin face" would be better") His eyes were dead and thoughtful (are you sure you don't mean 'thoughtless'?), the eyes of a man who was used to looking at death. It seemed as if the sniper did not have empathy; he was killed the informer and the man in the turret without any conscience. His fierce love of battle was strong and it had kept him extremely excited. He was a smart person who managed to trick his enemy. After he killed his last enemy, he was filled with sadness and was angry at the war, at himself and at everybody. The Sniper’s curiously made him risk his life to confirm if this person was at the same army as him before they were separated. I think at the end The Sniper was surprised when he found out that he killed his brother.
The other characters included the man in the turret, an informer and the man at the opposite roof-top. All of them were The Sniper’s enemies and their relationships were negative. That made it intense between those two parties.

This is excellent, and only had a few mistakes; although you made some sentences unnecessarily long by adding 'and' too much.
