environmental problems In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the number of environmental problems, such as pollution, waste and so on. Some people believe that one international organization should take responsibility for tackling these issues rather than local authorities. Personally, I hardly agree with this statement. It is true that one international organization can play an important role in fighting against environmental deterioration. For example, various organizations, including the UN and OECD, have taken actions to promote international cooperation and alleviate the negative effect that human activities have had on the environment. However, Environmental problems are too complicated to be solved merely by one international organization. Firstly, governments need to establish and enforce laws which companies or individuals who damage the environment will be fined. Rules and regulations should also be made to encourage people to use much more clean energy instead of fossil fuel. Secondly, factories and companies should make an effort to provide goods and services environmentally-friendly rather than just pursuing the profits. Finally, individuals tend to lead a greener life by reducing the consumption of natural resources. It is a wide variety of small things that make great changes. Taking buses or walking is preferable when we travel and electronic equipments are not thrown away just because they are outdated. In conclusion, although international organizations are necessary in protecting environment, it is the responsibility of every member of the world. International organizations, governments, companies as well as individuals, therefore, should work together to protect and enhance the environment, leaving our children and grandchildren a better home.
