Having broad knowledge of many subjects is better than specialization in one subject Some people think that it is better to have broad knowledge of many academic subjects than to specialize in one specific subject. I do agree with that statement for several reasons. First, learning many subjects is more interesting and less boring than just focusing on one subject. For examples, when I studied in university, I always felt interesting when I was taught different academic subjects in a day. Besides, my ability to acquire knowledge is very effective. However, in days when I was just taught one subjects such as finance or marketing, I felt very tired and could not study as effective as normal. It is because focusing on subject for a long time will make me feel boring and cannot concentrate on studying. Not just me, many students also feel the same. That is why university programs teach their students a lot of subjects for the effectiveness and interest. Second, the people who have broad knowledge of different subjects will have more options for their careers than those who just focus on only one subject. A person who studies finance, accounting, business management, etc can become a financial analyst, an accountant or a business manager. On the other hand, the person who focuses on a subject such as accounting just be able to become an accountant. And what they will do when market is full and demand for new accountants is very low. They have very few choices and their ability to adapt increasingly fluctuated job market is low. That is why focusing on just one subject is not a wise choice. Third, there is a truth that people sometimes do not know what they really like or love. At this time, a person can like a subjects such as finance, however, just few year later, he may do not have any interest on it and like another subject such as marketing. In this case, if this person just focuses on finance from the beginning, he will have to start again with marketing because he does not know anything except finance. I have a friend who has the same situation. At first, he liked accounting and just focused on it. After few years, he realized that finance is his true interest and he spent so much time to start from the beginning just because he did not have broad knowledge of many subjects. Although there are many people who still succeeded thanks to focusing on only subject, in my view, it is better to know many subjects. It will help people easily adapt to changing market, feel interesting about study and be safer if their interest change later.

Having broad knowledge of many subjects is better than specialization in one subject

Some people think that it is better to have broad knowledge of many academic subjects than to specialize in one specific subject. I do agree with that statement for several reasons.
First, learning many subjects is more interesting and less boring than just focusing on one subject. For examples, when I studied at university, I always felt interested when I was taught different academic subjects in one day. Besides, my ability to acquire knowledge is very effective. However, in days when I was just taught one subject such as finance or marketing, I felt very tired and could not study as effectively as normal. It is because focusing on subject for a long time will make me feel bored and cannot concentrate on studying. Not just me, many students also feel the same. That is why university programs teach their students a lot of subjects for the effectiveness and interest.
Second, the people who have broad knowledge of different subjects will have more options for their careers than those who just focus on only one subject. A person who studies finance, accounting to, business management, etc can become a financial analyst, an accountant or a business manager. On the other hand, the person who focuses on a subject such as accounting just be able to become an accountant. And what they will do when market is full and demand for new accountants is very low. They have very a few choices and their ability to adapt increasingly fluctuated job market is low. That is why focusing on just one subject is not a wise choice.
Third, there is a truth that people sometimes do not know what they really like or love. At this time, a person can like a subjects such as finance, however, just few years later, they may do not have any interest in it and like another subject such as marketing. In this case, if this person just focuses on finance from the beginning, he will have to start again with marketing because he does not know anything except finance. I have a friend who has the same situation. At first, he liked accounting and just focused on it. After a few years, he realized that finance was his true interest and he spent so much time starting from the beginning just because he did not have broad knowledge of many subjects.
Although there are many people who still succeeded thanks to focusing on only subject, in my view, it is better to know many subjects. It will help people easily adapt to changing market, feel interested about study and safer if their interest changes later.
