Ffree Public Transport Topic:some people think the best way to solve traffic congestions in cities is to provide free public transport 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.To what extent do you agree or disagree? Traffic jams have been an unsolved and thorny issue for several decades. Some people suggest all-year-round free public transport be an alternative to address the issue, while as I see it,that is unrealistic and infeasible. Seemingly, the application of free public transport can considerably reduced the number of cars used for traveling on the street. And it facilitates people who need to commute to and from work every day, thereby easing traffic congestions. However, the measures above do not take into account the fact that it can be a whole waste of money considering that most of the free public transport will be underused especially at midnight and weekends .So obviously it is unrealistic to eliminate traffic congestions by this way because an absolute amount of fortune is needed to spend on and run it,which is affordable for few cities.Even if the government had constructed and accommodated free vehicle like subways, money will still have been invested in operating and maintaining the free traffic systems. Overall, free public transport is not the only and an advisable solution in terms of its tremendous operating costs and waste. In essence, reasonably designed and well-controlled transport systems are more practical and cost-effective to alleviate traffic congestions to a largest extent.Other measures and regulations like impose ‘traffic congestion fee’,fine jaywalkers and discourage unnecessary use of cars can also contribute to the smooth flow of traffic.
