Why do international sports competitions sometimes encourage strong nationalism?
Analyzing the development of national sport, it can be considered, that unfortunately such types of competitions sometimes promote strong nationalism. Indeed, a lot of people, watching the Olympics, for instance, associate themselves with national athletes and teams. In this way, usual fans from different countries became competitors and a kind of national separation on national type is created.
Thinking about this issue, firstly I need to talk say about the positive aspects of this one. Namely, it is absolutely normal to feel happy* with the results of your country and to hope that they became better than other ones. It is called patriotism and as the more we feel it, as the stronger our country became becomes. For example, I am really brave with proud of* the thirty three medals of our national team won in the last Olympic Games, but also I respect foreign athletes, because they deserve their results by from years of strong training. Moreover, each member of participating in national competitions deserves to be respected.
Unfortunately, the negative aspect of such tournaments is also exists, that is, encouraging of nationalism, which is shown by seen in unacceptable behavior of fans, for instance. Especially it can especially be seen on at football matches when fans from two different countries make a scrimmage, throw fires flares to at each other and cetera. It happens not so often doesn't happen often though.
Another thing which should be mentioned is a lot of are the many stereotypes in sports and many of them is are national. For example, the possibilitiesy of gain being successful in some sport areas are not available for certain countries. And as I think, we should not stress pay a lot of attention to talking about these possibilities, especially in a unrespectable disrespectful way.
In conclusion, I want to stress how important it is to respect each other in sports competitions and to find a balance between following national interests and argue by national type*.
