Torta = slap Tarta = cake. Then you´re right.

Hello. There's a mistake. When you say 'sentencia', that's something that (I guess) you literally translated from English. In Spanish, 'sentencia' means something else. The word that you need there is 'oración'. Going to the sentence, 'El niño le dio una torta' means 'The boy gave her a cake'. If you want to ask it, then you have to say '¿El niño le dio una torta?'. That's in the simple past. If you want to say it in simple present, you should say 'El niño le da una torta', and if you want to ask it in the present, an option would be '¿El niño le está dando una torta?' (That'd be present continuous).
