The first of September is the "Day of Knowledge" in Russia. It means that all pupils return to their respective schools after their holidays. Many people name this day the "Gala Day," but when I was a child I didn't think that name was appropriate. Perhaps, this day is the "Gala Day" for parents, but for pupils it wasn't, as they had to be in school and couldn't meet-up in the city or on the internet.
I became a teacher this summer. This first of September is a significant day for me, however I am not feeling happy because I am worried. My new school is known as a school for troubled teens. It's just not the teen factor, but it is also called "The Night School" and has the number 13 on it. It's symbolic, isn't it? This will be an interesting and unusual experience — something like Jazz.
